Our team studies the interactions between vector mosquitoes and the arboviruses they transmit to humans. In particular, we aim to identify the molecular mechanisms underlying the natural variation in susceptibility to infection that exist between and within vector mosquito species using multi-omics and gene editing approaches. We are also interested in the changes that have occurred during the evolution and global spread of the main arbovirus vector species, Aedes aegypti, in order to understand what makes it such an efficient vector.
