We are looking for a PhD student (M/F) in molecular biology to study trimethylated capped (TMG) mRNAs that escape the classical translation process. TMG-capped mRNA genes encode proteins involved in translation, stress response, antioxidant protection, and cancer prevention. The aim of the thesis is to determine the molecular role of TMG cap in mRNA translation, to identify associated translation factors and to characterize the endogenous repertoire of TMG-capped mRNAs in different cell types and under stress conditions to determine whether cap modification is regulated.
