The volume of Methods in Molecular Biology dedicated to RNA spectroscopy has just been published with a strong contribution from UPR 9002. Edited by Véronique Arluison (University of Paris, CEA) and Frank Wien (Synchrotron SOLEIL), it covers all spectroscopic methods applicable to the study of RNA and its partners. Each chapter provides the theoretical bases of the method described and is enriched with detailed protocols to guide the non-specialist. The important contribution of the researchers of UPR 9002 who wrote a third of the 22 chapters of the book is to be underlined:

Chapter 4: Dynamic Light Scattering Analysis on RNA Associated to Proteins Serena Bernacchi

Chapter 8: Mapping of Posttranscriptional tRNA Modifications by Two-Dimensional Gel Electrophoresis Mass Spectrometry Laura Antoine and Philippe Wolff

Chapter 9: Native Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry of RNA-Ligand Complexes Philippe Wolff and Eric Ennifar

Chapter 14: Structural Analysis of RNA by Small-Angle X-ray Scattering Anne Théobald-Dietrich, Raphaël de Wijn, Kévin Rollet, Alexandra Bluhm, Joëlle Rudinger-Thirion, Caroline Paulus, Bernard Lorber, Aurélien Thureau, Magali Frugier, and Claude Sauter

Chapter 15: Site-Specific Spin Labeling of RNA for NMR and EPR Structural Studies Bertrand Vileno and Isabelle Lebars

Chapter 16: Analysis of the HIV-1 Genomic RNA Dimerization Initiation Site Binding to Aminoglycoside Antibiotics Using Isothermal Titration Calorimetry Serena Bernacchi and Eric Ennifar

Chapter 21: Grad-cryo-EM : Tool to Isolate Translation Initiation Complexes from Rabbit Reticulocyte Lysate Suitable for Structural Studies Javier Rol-Moreno, Lauriane Kuhn, Stefano Marzi and Angelita Simonetti
