The droplet microfluidic systems used by the “Digital RNA Biology” team (Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Strasbourg) allow the production and manipulation (e.g., controlled melting, sorting) of water-in-oil microdroplets of a few picolitres in size and very homogeneous in size at a rate of several thousand events per second. The present project will aim to use biomolecule capture technology to coat the inner surface of the droplets with synthetic RNA motifs. This approach will also allow the identification of molecules capable of interfering with the RNA/protein interaction.
